In this fun, low-pressure, one-time class, Ceilon will walk you step-by-step through the process of painting a simple, Valentine-themed watercolor. Paint this for your love, gift them the class, or come together–all three are wonderful ways to share that Valentine’s Day spirit. Of course the birds are not really love birds; they are a mated pair of redbirds. However, Ceilon’s mom passed away last year, and she loved redbirds. Her cousin shared an article written by Fannie Flag in Southern Living entitled, “Fannie Flagg Shares Her Heartwarming Redbird Christmas Story.” In that story, Fannie Flagg shares the tradition that some believe redbirds are the spirit of loved ones who have left us, and when we see them those loved ones are reminding us they are still with us in spirit. Ceilon found great comfort in this story, and since her mom loved redbirds too she has already found comfort in painting and drawing them.
Even though this is a one-time class, you will learn a variety of watercolor painting techniques that you can apply to other paintings. All supplies will be provided. Please join us!
